Buying Lists
The money is in the list is what many email marketers will tell you, but very few will tell you the best way to build a profitable list. There’s no doubting that if you have a relevant and strong list then you can continue to leverage the list members in order to make regular income from them. This is true whether you act as an affiliate selling lace fabrics or you sell your own logo design and stationery design services.
A list should contain only qualified leads and these should be gained ethically. The problem with buying lists is that there are, unfortunately, unscrupulous list brokers out there that use unethical methods to collect contact details and it may well be you that suffers the consequences.
A qualified lead is one that has signed up to receive the kind of information that you’re likely to offer. The list member should have opted in to receive the information and should always be given a simple way to opt back out again if they find they do not wish to receive emails for any reason.
When you see cheap lists being offered online then you should heed the old adage that “if it seems too good to be true then it probably is”. Building a list takes time and dedication, so good quality and responsive lists will cost a decent amount to purchase.
It should be noted that there are good quality list brokers out there too. People that take the time and effort to build a valuable list and then offer limited access to that list. These are the people that care about their list members to some extent and while access to lists belonging to these people may cost more they are also much more likely to yield the kind of results you will want from your email marketing campaign.
