Telephone Recruiting – Build Your Business By Phone

Recruiting people into your business through the telephone has been the way of business building for many years. There are many business owners out there that will tell you that you can build a business without ever having to pick up the phone. This statement is highly doubtful. Even if you recruited someone into your business with an online advertisement or some other method, you will still have to eventually pick up that phone and start building a relationship with them. With that being said, what does it take to build a successful business using the telephone?
When first starting out, you might have a little fear inside or you may even have a total anxiety meltdown. You have to understand, that the people on the other end of the phone cannot see you and have no idea who you are (in most cases). A good way to get over this fear and get onto dialing those phone numbers is by turning it into a numbers game. You will get the rejections and everyone does, but if you think of it as a numbers game, it softens the blow. The more numbers you dial, the more relationships you will build and therefore the more conversions you will get.
Do not take your calls personally. If a prospect tells you no or hangs up, so what. They are not rejecting you personally, just your opportunity. Move on to the next call. They just weren’t ready for your business. There will be others who will be ready. You have to say next and keep dialing.
Make sure to have a script in front of you even if you are rehearsed and do not need it. Having a script allows you to stay in control of the call. If a customer cuts you off with a question, you can easily answer it and turn back to your script to start the conversation again. Having a script will enable you to sit back and listen to your prospect instead of thinking of what you are going to say next.
If you are going to purchase leads for calling, be sure to pick reputable companies. There are companies out there that are offering leads at cheap prices or even free, but these leads are outdated and usually have been called by an armful of other business owners. Stick with the companies that offer exclusive leads.
Last, generate your own leads which are much more open to listening to your business presentation. You can build your relationships through your online marketing such as social networking, forum posting, blogging or emailing and then call them only after you have made a connection that way.
Recruiting people into your business by telephone does not have to be tricky business. It can actually go rather smoothly if you simply be yourself, be honest and have a genuine conversation with your prospects.
On a personal note before I go; I have thrilling news, I was chatting to my cousin the other night and he has just got a lovely new position at an hr software company. Well done Luke
